Matthias Koenig is professor of sociology of religion at the University of Göttingen and a Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity. His current research focuses on the role of law in the civic integration of religious minorities; in that context, he is studying litigation and jurisprudence at the ECtHR and their impact upon domestic arrangements of secularism and public religion.
