This is not a celebration unique to Puerto Rico. The neighborhood pool gets really crowded. This I think is more of a Catholic celebration. This tradition consists of asking our parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and godparents, the blessing.

The party is thrown at a social club or local community center, and all the family and friends are invited. Food and drinks are also present. When I turned 15, we actually had a t party with Puerto rican customs beliefs the girls in my school who wanted to participate. It was pretty cool cause I got to celebrate it with all my friends.
